What is GaN?

Gallium Nitride is a highly efficient semiconductor material which is an alternative to silicon and is becoming the technology of choice for many power devices. GaN can conduct electrons more efficiently than silicon. Chips made using GaN are smaller, faster and more efficient than chips made of silicon.
